Developing a Group-Wide AI Strategy

Objective

The Dr. Aichhorn Group had already launched its first AI initiatives, including ChatGPT licenses, internal training and a network of key users. What it lacked was a shared, group-wide vision for using AI strategically. The project set out to build a common framework that gives AI a clear strategic direction across the group, sets priorities and embeds AI in the organization. The resulting AI strategy lays the foundation for developing the group's AI potential in a structured way and for steering future AI initiatives toward clear goals.

Approach

• Workshops to align the corporate, digital, IT and business unit strategies with the emerging AI strategy
• Review of the technology stack, data and system landscape across the subsidiaries and the group as a whole
• Identification of potential AI use cases in three selected business units and processes, assessed and prioritized by value, feasibility and risk
• Definition of roles, processes and governance structures, leading to a target operating model that anchors AI in the organization for the long term
