Specification of a configuration & deployment solution and optimization of the software development process

Objective

The goal was to cover and optimize the following topics: on the one hand, the specification of the configuration system — creating a specification document (scope document) for redeveloping an existing configuration & deployment solution. The software development processes were also examined: the development process of one area was analysed and prepared for future growth.

Approach

Configuration system: in five half-day workshops, the requirements were gathered, aligned and documented in the desired form. Software development processes: the current development process and its resulting artifacts were identified, discussed and aligned with the project team.
