Implementation of an SAP-based e-procurement platform

Objective

The client's long-term goal is to introduce a new e-procurement platform with strong SAP integration and a high degree of automation. In the first phase, a targeted needs and market analysis (RFI) was carried out to gain a comprehensive overview of the client's requirements and the market's software solutions. With these artifacts, the client is optimally prepared for the specification and procurement process to select and implement a future-proof e-procurement platform.

Approach

• Conducting survey workshops to analyse the current procurement processes and the requirements of the requesting units
• Market analysis of existing solution vendors and creation of a requirements catalog
• Evaluation of the vendors and presentation of the results after conducting and documenting vendor presentations

Result

The requirements and needs analysis provided valuable insights into the TO-BE situation, which were compared with the solutions available on the market as part of the RFI, considering functionality, price and future viability of various e-procurement systems. These insights enable management to make a transparent and well-founded decision on the further course of action for redesigning the procurement processes and the e-procurement system.
