“Fit4Future” – IT roadmap

Objective

By opening up new business fields, Salzburg AG must undergo a transformation process to modernize its grown IT landscape and develop into a digital technology company. In the Fit4Future project, ReqPOOL and Salzburg AG analyse the core processes of the end-to-end value chain and derive the target picture of a future IT architecture. In parallel, a prioritized and ranked roadmap of projects is developed that maps the path to a digitalized group of the future. These artifacts enable sustainable growth by forming the basis for all strategic IT decisions, while remaining flexible to new challenges as part of a continuous improvement process. This makes the IT landscape modular and scalable while reducing IT service costs across the entire group.

Approach

Analysis phase

• AS-IS survey – surveying processes and potential in a workshop series with the business units
• AS-IS analysis – elaborating a process matrix, deriving technology building blocks and conducting expert interviews

Planning phase

• Target picture – developing a group vision through creative workshops with Salzburg AG's management
• Planning – structuring, prioritizing and ranking projects that map the transformation from the surveyed AS-IS situation to the developed target picture

Result

With ReqPOOL's three interlocking results (process matrix, target architecture and roadmap), Salzburg AG's strategic steering committee has all the tools it needs to face new challenges sustainably and flexibly and to make the group Fit4Future.
