Digital grid connection – specification
Objective
Salzburg AG wants to optimize its division-integrated grid connection process end-to-end and introduce a web-based grid connection portal for customers, employees and market partners. This is to eliminate existing system breaks and achieve the next step towards process automation. The goal is to increase transparency about the overall process for all stakeholders and to introduce a future-proof system. A further goal is the replacement of two legacy systems: a non-integrated market partner portal and an in-house developed planning and construction management software.
Approach
- Business analysis (AS-IS process, document analysis, expert interviews)
- TO-BE survey workshops (per sub-phase of the end-to-end grid connection process)
- In-depth market analysis of the solution vendors and IT integration options
- Modelling of data flows, target architecture and processes
- Iterative quality assurance and review of the requirements
- Telecom stream: separate survey of the requirements for the telecom division (due to deviating and partly more complex processes)
Result
The result is a comprehensive specification of two systems and of the entire division-integrated end-to-end process. The first solution is a future-proof grid connection portal, which is also to replace the existing market partner portal. The second system is a new, lightweight, workflow-driven planning and construction management software. Together with Salzburg Netz GmbH, many further artifacts were created (incl. an IT big picture with interim and target architecture, interface specifications, etc.). The specification focuses on technically, organizationally and procedurally simplifying existing company processes and the underlying IT architecture. The next step is the tender, where ReqPOOL continues to provide support.
